A 15-year-old boy has died after getting into trouble in the sea near a Welsh beach.

Police were called to Aberavon Beach in Port Talbot, South Wales at around 7.10pm on Monday evening sparking a huge rescue operation.

The teenager was pulled from the water but despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead a short while later.
