INSANE: Are saatva mattresses organic here s what i discovered | Rare Historical Photos

Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress.

It seems like Saatva is everywhere these days, from sponsoring Team USA in the Olympic Games to running commercials during prime-time. The brand receives a lot of attention for its handcrafted luxury beds and quality materials.

But does Saatva sell organic mattresses? The answer depends on whether you mean fully organic — as in 100% certified organic materials used from base to cover — or some organic materials mixed in with non-organic (yet still non-toxic) materials.

The Saatva Classic, which tops our list of the best mattresses of 2026 for all sleepers, uses organic cotton in its cover. The flippable Saatva Zenhaven mattress uses GOLS-certified organic latex. Those are just a couple of examples from the brand's complete 12-mattress line-up.

We'll take a look at the organic materials you find in each Saatva mattress. And if you're in the market for a new bed, now is a great time to buy, as the Saatva Labor Day mattress sale features savings on the entire range.

What is Saatva?

Saatva is a sleep brand known for selling premium handcrafted mattresses and luxury bedding online. Founded in 2010 by CEO Ron Rudzin, Saatva today has 19 factories across the US and nearly 30 Saatva Viewing Room locations in major metro areas, with more to open.

The Saatva Classic is our highest-rated mattress, earning a perfect 5/5 stars in our review. It's an innerspring hybrid akin to a hotel mattress, with customizable firmness and height levels so you can tailor it to your comfort and bedroom space.

Find out which organic materials the Saatva Classic — and other Saatva mattresses — use below.

Which Saatva mattresses use organic materials?

All Saatva mattresses have a breathable cover made of an organic cotton blend that's treated with a natural antimicrobial to prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. It's unclear what that exact blend is, but Saatva says its mattress covers also contain "non-cotton fibers."

Saatva doesn't use fiberglass in its mattresses as a flame barrier, either. Instead, the brand opts for thistle pulp, New Zealand wool, or a poly-rayon blend.

A couple of Saatva mattresses use natural latex instead of petroleum-based foam. The Saatva Zenhaven features GOLS-certified organic latex foam layers with different firmness on each side, so you can flip it to the level of comfort you want. It also includes a comfort layer made of organic New Zealand wool, polyester, and rayon. Learn more in our Saatva Zenhaven Mattress review.

The Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress has a single layer of 5-zoned natural latex plus a certified organic New Zealand wool comfort layer. Its individually wrapped coils are made from recycled steel. We gave it a near-perfect score in our Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress review.

Are Saatva mattresses 100% organic?

Saatva mattresses incorporate at least some organic materials — mostly cotton in the top cover — but there's no bed in its lineup we'd consider as 100% organic.

The closest you'd come to a fully organic mattress is the Saatva Zenhaven, which has certified organic latex and a comfort blend of organic New Zealand wool, which also doubles as a flame barrier.

The Saatva Latex Hybrid is another mattress that's as close to 100% organic as you'll find, with natural latex and GOTS-certified organic New Zealand wool that pulls double duty as a comfort layer and a fire retardant.

Organic Saatva mattresses in the Labor Day sales

Organic mattresses tend to command a higher price due to the process that goes into making these materials safe for you and the planet. Fortunately, you can save some money on these beds during the Labor Day mattress sales.
