The DP World Tour's European Swing has been continuing in earnest before the US Open and stunning scenery provided an unforgettable backdrop at this week's Austrian Alpine Open.
Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith - which is midway between the major hubs of Salzburg and Innsbruck - was the stage for the latest DP World Tour event, and it produced a new DP World Tour winner, with Kota Kaneko claiming the title by two.
The Japanese player held off the challenges of Ricardo Gouveia and Davis Bryant by two to seal his maiden DP World Tour title in his rookie season on the circuit.
That earned him some eye-catching prize money, too, with Kaneko claiming $467,500 of the overall purse of $2.75 million. That left the two runners-up to settle for $237,875.
It isn't just the prize money that is potentially life-changing for Kaneko also gaining entry into each of the DP World Tour's lucrative Back 9 run of events with his victory.
Helped by a T2 at the Soudal Open in the event before the Austrian Alpine Open, Kaneko also now leads the European Swing rankings, with a $200,000 bonus heading his way if he can maintain that over the remaining tournaments.
Kaneko is also now knocking on the door of a PGA Tour card courtesy of his place in the Race to Dubai Rankings. He is now up to 11th, which would be enough for his card as it stands.
Below is what each player won at the Austrian Alpine Open in euros.
