BENGALURU: Complaints are pouring in from Metro passengers about harassment by parking contractors at stations. From overcharging to threatening vehicle owners, many Metro users have demanded stringent action against errant contractors.
Sandeep Narayan, a passenger, posted on a Facebook forum: "Beware of parking fee scams in Metro stations. This example is of Byappanahalli Metro bike parking. When you are about to leave the station, the ticket issuer will look at your ticket, make a mental calculation and ask you to pay Rs 30 or Rs 40 or more. I too kept paying these amounts when one day I had a doubt and asked him to print the ticket. And to my shock, the amount I had to pay for 3 hours and 3 mins was only Rs 15. So basically, they are charging a minimum of 100% extra to each and every motorist, and pocketing the unaccounted money."
