Daisy May Cooper's eye-raising comments about the Sugababes was missed by the ITV audio team who didn't get to the bleep button in time. But desperate to limit further damage on the live Brit Awards coverage, they managed to mute the aftermath instead.
Daisy was handing out the award for best alternative or rock act on Saturday night's event - won by Matty Healy - when she made the crass remark.
The BBC This Country star and Sky Never Mind The Buzzcocks team captain told the audience that earlier in the night, she was in the bathroom when she saw the Sugababes. "And they weren’t doing coke – they were lovely," she then added, leaving viewers at home and in attendance stunned. ITV failed to censor the joke in time - but bleeped out the aftermath.
