CD Projekt Red has shared a detailed look at where its biggest upcoming projects currently stand, giving fans a clearer picture heading into the second half of the year.
The update arrived alongside the studio's first-half 2026 financial results, showing continued growth across nearly every major title in development.
CD Projekt Red Updates on 'The Witcher 4'
CD Projekt Red confirmed that "The Witcher 4" remains the studio's top priority, currently sitting deep in active production. As of July 31 of this year, the game's development team had grown to 519 employees, up from 513 at the end of April, reflecting a steady increase in staffing that has continued throughout the year.
The studio reiterated its planned 2028 release window for "The Witcher 4," positioning it as the third major Witcher release across three consecutive years. This will be following "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered" launching September 29, 2026, and "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past" arriving in 2027.
The Polish games development company said this packed release schedule is simply too tight to also fit a large-scale expansion for "The Witcher 4" itself, similar in size to something like "Blood and Wine." This means that the game's own post-launch content plans remain separate from what fans can expect leading up to its release.
'Cyberpunk' Sequel In Early Development
"Cyberpunk 2," the unofficial name for the sequel to "Cyberpunk 2077," continues moving through its earlier development stages, though its team has also grown steadily. As of July 31, 184 developers were working on the project, up from 163 at the end of April.
CD Projekt Red confirmed the game remains in early development, sitting well behind "The Witcher 4" in terms of overall progress and timeline.
According to the studio, work on "Cyberpunk 2" is primarily being handled out of CD Projekt Red's Boston studio, which has spent recent months laying the groundwork for the project. Given how far the sequel remains from launch, CD Projekt Red has not shared specific release window estimates for "Cyberpunk 2," a marked contrast to the more defined timeline already in place for "The Witcher 4" (via GameRant).
Other CD Projekt Red Projects Incoming
Beyond its two flagship franchises, CD Projekt Red also gave a brief update on "Project Hadar," a completely new intellectual property the studio has been quietly developing. The Hadar team grew to 33 workers as of July 31, up from 24 at the end of April, though details about the project's genre or premise remain scarce.
CD Projekt Red also confirmed strong financial results for the first half of 2026, reporting 435 million PLN in revenue, a 23 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year, alongside net earnings of 249 million PLN, up 37 percent year over year.
The studio credited that growth largely to continued strong sales across both the "Cyberpunk" and "The Witcher" franchises.
Separately, "Project Sirius," believed to be a multiplayer spin-off tied to "The Witcher 3" and co-developed with Boston-based studio Molasses Flood, continues development as well. However, CD Projekt Red's latest report did not detail specific staffing changes tied to that project.
