Celtic will make a renewed attempt to sign Gvidas Gineitis in January, it is being reported.
A £6.5million offer for the Torino midfielder was rejected earlier in the window. The Italians wanted £9m and the Parkhead side kept trying, but were frustrated in their attempts again towards yesterday's deadline.
Even after missing Wednesday's deadline for Europa League registration, they were still hopeful of landing the 22-year-old, but couldn't get the Serie A men to budge.
However, the Daily Record is reporting Celtic will not give up their interest and will return with an offer in January.

Torino had signed replacements Rolando Mandragora and Daniel Braganca in the expectation Gineitis would be moving on.
Celtic did manage to add to their midfield during the summer window with the arrivals of Mika Baur, Joel van den Berg and Oliver Sorensen.
But they sold Reo Hatate and Arne Engels, and Gineitis was believed to be seen as a relacement for the latter.
Towards the end of the window, loan signings arrived in the shape of goalkeeper Sam Johhnstone, full-backs Landon Emenalo and Jordan Lotomba. and striker Shim Mheuka.
Kasper Hogh, Camilo Duran and Haissem Hassan are the other summer arrivals.
