Chris Sutton says Celtic are gambling on Landon Emenalo, admitting confusion over the club's loan move for the Chelsea left-back.
Brought in as cover for Kieran Tierney on Wednesday, Emenalo doesn't have much senior experience and won't be available until after the international break.
"The left-back situation is also confusing," Sutton said (RecordSport). "Landon Emenalo sounds like a top prospect but he’s 18 years old and he’s never played a senior game for Chelsea.
"He’s also injured for the next few weeks. Kieran Tierney shouldn’t be out long-term but it’s a big ask for a youngster to be the main back-up when you consider the amount of times Tierney doesn’t finish games.

"Celtic could be relying on a teenager to come in and see out huge matches in Scotland and in Europe.
"He might turn out to be a superstar but it’s a gamble, especially when there were pretty obvious options close to home with left-backs like Will Ferry at Dundee United, Motherwell’s Emmanuel Longelo and even the talk about Greg Taylor coming back. Any of them would have done the job."
Liam Scales has deputised for Tierney in recent matches, while new signing Jordan Lotomba, who recently joined from Feyenoord, can also play at left-back.
Celtic return to action this evening as they face St Mirren away from home in the Scottish Premiership.
