A death rumor involving Twitch streamer The Faithful Sheriff spread on September 9 after SuperMega posted a message on X saying the controversial creator was gone. The post did not give a clear source for the claim, and there was no confirmed death announcement from a reliable news outlet. In fact, The Faithful Sheriff’s online activity has raised more questions about the report. His Twitch account remains active, and public tracking sites still list him as a creator with more than 122,000 followers. The streamer has also been linked to recent activity on X.

The Faithful Sheriff death rumor began after SuperMega’s X post
The confusion started when the official SuperMega account posted about The Faithful Sheriff on September 9. The sketch comedy duo wrote, “W*F, just saw The Faithful Sheriff news. Memes aside, it’s crazy to think that he’s gone. He was definitely controversial, but no one deserves to go out in the way he did... RIP.” The post was enough to make people question whether the streamer had actually died.
There was a major problem with treating that message as confirmation: no reliable death report appeared to support it. A death claim about a public creator needs more than a social media post, especially when the post itself does not explain where the information came from.
The Faithful Sheriff’s public accounts also point to an active creator. TwitchMetrics currently lists 122,129 followers on his Twitch channel and says he streamed for 95 hours during the previous 30 days, with an average of 98 viewers in that period. Streams Charts gives a similar figure, listing about 122,000 followers and a 95-viewer average over 30 days.
The streamer has also remained active around gaming and sports discussions. A post attributed to his X account after the SuperMega message discussed the Patriots-Seahawks game and said, “What a CRAZY ending to that Patriots vs Seahawks game.” That recent activity is another reason the death claim should not be treated as confirmed.
The Faithful Sheriff and TheBurntPeanut had already been involved in online drama
The Faithful Sheriff is known for using a peanut-style character dressed as a sheriff while mixing gaming content with Christian messages. His own website describes him as a streamer and content creator focused on “Bringing the Gospel to Gamers.” He became known under the name DrWitnesser before taking the Faithful Sheriff name and using the peanut character.
His connection to TheBurntPeanut became another part of his online story. In April 2026, The Faithful Sheriff publicly questioned why he had been banned from TheBurntPeanut’s Discord server. He also said his name was blocked in TheBurntPeanut’s Twitch chat, meaning messages containing his name would not appear.
