An unusually early and active tick season is underway across the United States, with a high number of bites already reported and doctors expressing concern over a potentially severe year for tick-borne diseases.
"If you have a lot of exposures, there will probably be more cases of tick-related infections," stated Dr. Alina Filozov, an infectious disease doctor at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut.
