A photographer in East Lothian has shared breathtaking images that he managed to capture of the Northern Lights with his camera.
Kris Bird had headed down to Whitesands Beach in Dunbar to try to get a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis but said that he did not hold out much hope due to the conditions.
But at around 9:30pm on Saturday January 14 he was blown away as not only was his high spec camera able to capture the natural phenomena but the spectacular light show could also be seen with the naked eye.
