Former Celtic target Will Ferry has refused to rule out a Dundee United exit amid contract talks going cold.
The left-back was linked with a potential move to Parkhead multiple times over the summer as cover for Kieran Tierney on the left-hand side of defence.
Ferry, 25, did have other suitors who lodged bids to the Tannadice outfit. An offer of around £1.7million from Czechia side Sigma Olomouc was accepted by the Terrors but the player knocked back the opportunity.
And the Irishman was touted as a possible Celtic option, a natural choice to deputise for Tierney.
Celtic didn't move for the star, ultimately, and Landon Emenalo was brought in on loan from Chelsea.
But Ferry's future remains up in the air even after a contract extension was tabled by his club. Rather than confirm his plans, the full-back - who could sign a pre-contract elsewhere in January with his deal expiring in 2027 - insisted talks had been shelved for now
"There was a contract offer but we’re not speaking about it just now," he said. “Do I see myself moving on at the end of the season? Not necessarily, but right now it’s not something that we’re talking about.
“I’m not saying talks are done, but right now it’s not what we’re thinking about. It’s about staying fit because nobody wants someone who isn’t fit and playing well.
“And it’s not going to benefit us as a team if I’m not fit.
“So nothing is ongoing. Whether something does start; we’ll see. I’m not committing my future in September.”
