According to Mayorkas, the FBI is actively investigating the New Orleans attack, which has been determined to be inspired by a foreign terrorist ideology. The suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US citizen and army veteran, is believed to have ascribed to the beliefs of ISIS.
Mayorkas mentioned that the FBI is particularly focused on understanding how Jabbar became radicalized, highlighting it as a key element of the investigation. While a motive has been identified for the New Orleans attack, the investigation into the Las Vegas incident involving a Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International Hotel is still in its preliminary stages.
