Flexible solar panels offer a lighter, more adaptable way to generate electricity from the sun. Unlike traditional rigid panels, they can be fitted to slightly curved surfaces, making them popular for campervans, caravans, boats, sheds and other spaces where a standard rooftop solar system may not be practical.
Their appeal is easy to understand: they are slim, portable and relatively simple to install. But flexibility usually comes with trade-offs. Flexible solar panels tend to be less efficient and less durable than conventional panels, so they are not always the best choice for a typical home roof or a long-term solar investment.
