Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick has described a 61-point drubbing from a white-hot Adelaide as a "kick in the nuts" for his finals hopefuls.

The Crows kicked the initial 11 goals in their 16.11 (107) to 6.10 (46) victory at Adelaide Oval on Sunday to retain their grip on third spot.
