I dunno about you guys, but I will happily pay good money to be comfortable. Found a tracksuit that’s so buttery soft you feel like you’re melting into it? I’ll grab my card. Sourced a pair of scrunch socks so cosy you recommend I buy 10 pairs? Take my money.
And according to the legends over at Nike, standard comfort just isn’t enough anymore. They’ve decided our shoes should be giving us a full reflexology session while we’re walking around.
Over at Nike’s famous LeBron James Innovation Centre, the brand’s top-secret Nike Mind Science Department spent a decade testing brain waves, mapping foot receptors, and engineering 22 independent underfoot pistons to create the new Mind 001 slides — a pair of shoes that literally use neuroscience to change how you feel underfoot.

Lead Mind Sciences Researcher Dr. Trevor Barss sums up the vibe shift: “For the first 45 years, Nike’s research focused on the body from the neck down. The next forty-five will include the brain.”
Chief Science Officer Dr. Matthew Nurse agrees, adding: “If the body is the engine, the mind is the driver. With Nike Mind, we’re starting to think about how to make the driver sharper and clearer.”
Principal Researcher Dr. Graeme Moffat even declared the new node tech to be “a walking anti-fatigue mat built into my shoes.”
PEDESTRIAN.TV’s Bek actually got her hands on a pair recently and reckons, “I couldn’t stop walking around and rocking back and forth to trigger the little nodes.” (Colleagues can confirm she has been sighted aggressively swaying around the office all week).
Aside from the new brain-hacking footwear line, Nike also dropped another lineup of its hyper-soft Nike 24.7 Collection, and it’s looking cosier than ever.
Here is every single item we’d recommend adding to your cart.
First things first, you have to try the Nike Mind 001s — just look at these bad boys.
The Mind 001s have been scientifically shown to activate sensory areas of the brain by stimulating anatomically mapped pressure points on the foot, helping you feel focused, calm, and more present.
You can shop the Nike Mind 001s ($150) here.
Oh, and did we mention there’s a sneaker version? There are currently four colourways to choose from, and they’ll set you back $200 a pair.
Next up, we have some of the new 24.7 collection. They’re a range of buttery-soft tracksuits, barrel-leg trousers, pleated skirts, classic T-shirts, and more.
Now, these are just a few of our favourite pieces — you can shop the full range here.
