DARK SECRETS: How sandra bullock shaped every detail for practical magic 2 house | Vintage Vibes

Sandra Bullock in Practical Magic 2

Sandra Bullock "had her finger on" every detail of the Practical Magic 2 set.

The 62-year-old actress and her castmate Nicole Kidman, 59, have reprise their rolls as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens for the highly anticipated sequel, and Bullock was heavily involved in making sure the new house matched the set from the 1998 original.

Maisie Williams, who has taken on Alexandra Artrip's role of Sally's younger daughter Antonia, told E! News: "Stepping into the Owens’ house, that was pretty magical for us.

"It was such a beautiful set. Attention to detail was crazy. It was exactly like the original.

"Sandra was like, ‘No, no, no the tiles are all wrong. They’ve been discontinued. We have to make new tiles'.

“She kind of had her finger on every decision, and when we walked in, it was special.”

Joey King, who has replaced Evan Rachel Wood as Antonia's sister Kylie, agreed that it felt "so special" working with Bullock and Kidman on such a faithfully recreated set.

She added: “That was such a moment of seeing that house, and I think seeing Sandra and Nicole be Sally and Gilly on set, like you're watching them and then you realise you're in the scene too, and you're like, ‘Oh yeah, OK, that's right, I have to focus.’

"Like, they're so mesmerising to watch.”

The younger duo also revealed how their co-stars were on hand for advice and support during filming, while still letting them forge their "own path".

King explained: "There’s an aspect of letting us kind of create our own path, and also, ‘We’ll always be for you’ vibe.”

Indeed, Bullock recently admitted a potential third film in the franchise would likely see them fully "pass the torch" to King and Williams.

She told Vanity Fair magazine: "We’ll do a number three if this takes off, and we’ll pass the torch to the girls."

Meanwhile, Evan Rachel Wood recently revealed she is "sad" not to be playing Kylie in the sequel.

She told Entertainment Tonight: “It is sad, because we bonded with that cast so much as children, and so to miss out on the opportunity to look at that cast and look at that house as an adult and see the history in our eyes, it’s something that can’t be faked.

"I’m sad that doesn’t get to exist, especially for the fans."

Practical Magic 2 director Susanne Bier has since insisted that the decision to recast the characters wasn't "personal".

She told Variety: "It was not a personal thing. The kids in the story are right out of college, so it wasn't really a question. We had to recast."
