The mother of missing university chef Claudia Lawrence has said “if you give up on hope you might as well give up altogether” as she marked the 13th anniversary of her daughter’s disappearance.
Detectives believe Ms Lawrence – who lived in the Heworth area of York and worked at York University – was murdered, although no body has ever been found.
