PANAJI: Fans from across the world are queuing up online for FIFA World Cup 2022 tickets with the governing body for world football receiving 2.3 million applications till Monday.

More than 1.2 million tickets were requested by fans worldwide in the first 24 hours of the initial sales period. Since then, the number of those seeking to travel for the sporting spectacle in Qatar has risen exponentially.
