MYSTERIOUS: Is monzo down thousands of users unable to access banking app - You Need To See This

  • Thousands of Monzo banking app users experienced technical issues around midday today, resulting in a sharp rise in outage reports on DownDetector and rendering several app features temporarily unavailable.
  • Affected customers logging into the app were met with an error message stating that Monzo was experiencing issues, though bank balances remained visible despite potential delays in transaction updates.
  • A Monzo spokesperson confirmed the technical disruption and announced that the bank had activated its backup system, Monzo Stand-in, ensuring customers could still make card payments, bank transfers, and ATM withdrawals.
  • A Monzo spokesperson told the Independent : “We’re currently experiencing a technical issue and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.”
  • DownDetector also recorded a simultaneous spike in outage reports around midday for Santander.
