A MAN has been charged after an alleged assault that endangered life during mass disorder at a far-right protest at Glasgow Green.
The 31-year-old is the latest to be arrested following violence that erupted during a planned demonstration on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
He has been charged in connection with four assaults, including one involving an offensive weapon and one described as endangering life, as well as a breach of the peace.
The incident took place during a protest organised by the Unite the Clans (UTC) group.
A counter-protest was organised by a number of groups, largely headed by Stand Up to Racism Glasgow (SUTR).
During the protest, police cordons separated the two groups.
A large group later moved through the city centre, where further disorder occurred.
Police imposed containments in several areas, including Oswald Street, in response to the unrest.
Sixteen people have previously been arrested in connection with the disorder.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with disorder in Glasgow on Saturday, 25 July, 2026.
"The man has been charged in connection with four assaults, including one with endangerment to life and one with an offensive weapon. He has also been charged with a breach of the peace.
"The arrest is part of an investigation into significant disorder which took place around the city centre following planned protest activity at Glasgow Green.
"Seventeen people have previously been arrested in connection with a number of offences linked to the disorder.
"Extensive enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting Operation Cornstarch, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"A Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) has been set up to encourage members of the public to submit information directly to officers.
"We would appeal to anyone with footage or photos of criminality related to the disorder to upload it using the online form here: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT26S14-PO1."
