A lawyer for Maria Bartiromo has rejected reports that the anchor has been terminated or has left Fox News Media, writing: “The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false”.
The dispute follows an announcement by Fox News Media saying it was parting ways with Bartiromo after more than 12 years at the network.
Reports alleged Bartiromo was let go for leaking an internal network directive about election coverage to the Donald Trump administration.
Donald Trump defended Bartiromo on social media, praising the long-time television host as a total professional and a true warrior.
Fox News Media has already moved to rebrand Bartiromo's lineup of shows and fill her hosting slots with rotating anchors.
