Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has sharpened his warning to businesses adopting artificial intelligence, arguing that companies that place all their AI bets on a single model provider risk losing control of their own future, despite Microsoft being a major investor in both OpenAI and Anthropic.
Speaking on CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS on Sunday, Nadella said enterprises should retain ownership of the data, prompts and metadata generated through their AI usage rather than allowing proprietary AI labs to become the sole custodians of that intelligence.
