The Bank of Thailand has submitted 79 loan applications to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society for court-ordered blocking, with 57 found to be unregistered, deputy government spokeswoman Ploytalay Laksmeesangchan said.
The ministry and the Fiscal Policy Office sought court orders to remove the unregistered applications from online stores and block further distribution, she said.
A total of 1,466 URLs were taken down between Oct 1, 2025 and May 17 this year, Ms Ploytalay said.
Scammers often use websites and social media to lure victims with claims of easy approval, fast processing, low interest rates, minimal documentation and loans for people blacklisted by financial institutions.
The public should verify whether loan applications are registered via the Bank of Thailand's website, she said.
People who have transferred money to suspected scammers can request an immediate account suspension through the 1441 hotline, which operates around the clock.
