The release of the sequel to 2018's "Moonlighter" is just around the corner, bringing a whole lot of excitement to the fans of the title.
But before we get there, here's what you have to know about "Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault" before its release.
'Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault'
"Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault" follows Will, the merchant and adventurer from the original "Moonlighter," who becomes stranded with his companions in the mysterious village of Tresna.
According to 11 Bit Studios, Will sets out to restore Tresna and his shop while searching for a way back home. His journey leads him into dangerous vaults filled with enemies and valuable treasures.
The game continues the original "Moonlighter's" blend of dungeon exploration, action-RPG combat, and shopkeeping. Players venture into different dimensions to collect loot, then return to Will's shop to sell their discoveries and help rebuild the village. "Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault" is developed by Digital Sun, the Spanish studio behind the original game, and published by 11 Bit Studios.
Release Date and Platforms
While "Moonlighter 2" has been on Early Access since November 2025, the game is set for full release on September 2, 2026.
The game will be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The PC version is available through Steam and the Windows Store.

According to the Steam page of "Moonlighter 2," the following are the game's minimum system requirements for PC:

- Memory: 16 GB RAM

On the other hand, the following are the recommended system requirements:

Gameplay
"Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault" combines action-RPG combat with roguelike elements and shopkeeping. Players explore dangerous, unpredictable dungeons, fight enemies and bosses, and collect relics to bring back to Tresna. According to 11 Bit Studios, players can also manage their inventory, upgrade equipment, and use different weapons and perks to improve their runs.
The game's main loop alternates between adventuring and running a shop. Players set prices, arrange their merchandise, respond to customers, and reinvest their earnings into the shop and surrounding village. The Endless Vault adds another challenge, with increasingly difficult trials that offer greater rewards for players willing to push deeper.
Editions and Pricing
"Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault" will have both a Standard Edition and a Collector's Edition, with the physical editions being published by Silver Lining Interactive.
It should be noted, however, that the physical versions are scheduled for November 2026, while the digital game is sold separately.
As of press time, the standard digital edition costs $29.99 on Steam. No price has been given for the physical edition.
The Collector's Edition will include physical extras such as art cards, patches, a poster, stickers, a metal coin, and a digital artbook. However, its price has not been announced as of press time.
