French author Annie Ernaux, who was awarded the Nobel Literature Prize last week, signed an open letter on Sunday supporting calls for a mass protest against President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron is accused of failing to tackle soaring prices for energy and other essentials, and of taking insufficient action against climate change.
