GREATER NOIDA: Police probing the death of a 27-year-old man have arrested his 22-year-old girlfriend for allegedly beating him up along with her brothers and associates and then poisoning him to death. The woman, Rinki, has told the police that Gaurav Kumar, who was from Jarcha in Greater Noida, wanted to marry her, but she was reluctant.
An injured Gaurav was found along a road in Chithera Bambay village on May 23. “He was taken to a nearby health facility. He was later referred to Safdarjung hospital, but the family took him to Kailash hospital. He died there,” said Meenakshi Katyayan, DCP in Greater Noida. Gaurav’s father, Ratanpal, lodged a complaint against Rinki, saying his son had gone to meet her. “When my son reached Dadri, Rinki and the others fed him some poisonous substance. Later, they told him about it. Gaurav then tried to flee on his bike, but they gave him a chase and attacked him in Chithera Bambay,” Ratanpal told TOI.
