India is at an important transition point in its space programme.
The country is moving from a predominantly government-led space programme to an ecosystem in which private companies and startups can participate across the entire value chain. Indian Space Policy 2023 explicitly enables private entities to undertake activities including satellite realisation and operations, launch services, data acquisition and dissemination and ground infrastructure.
