Rainbow Six Siege Operation Split Fire arrives on Sept. 1, 2026. The new season will bring an Egyptian Defender, a fast-paced 3v3 Arcade mode, Villa map changes, and several operator balancing tweaks.
Rainbow 6 Operation Split Fire release date
R6S Operation Split Fire launches globally on Sept. 1, 2026, across PC (Ubisoft Store, Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, and Xbox. The test server opened on Aug. 17, which gives you an early look at Noor, the Villa rework, and weapon balancing before the live rollout.
Everything new in Rainbow 6 Operation Split Fire
New Operator Noor abilities and loadout
Noor is a 2-speed, 2-armor Defender from Egypt. He’s built to counter shield Operators and create area denial with his Horus Lance Launcher.
The Horus Lance Launcher fires a flame charge that sticks into surfaces (shields, soft/reinforced walls, hatches, floors, deployable shields, Castle barricades, Azami barriers). On shields, the projectile burrows in and then ignites, spraying flames directly at the Attacker. A shielded Operator will die in a few seconds unless they move the shield aside and remove the lance, creating a punishable window for Defenders.
On walls and barriers, flames jet out on both sides if the surface can be penetrated, creating a two-sided hazard. If it hits a non-penetrable frame (door or window), flames only come out one side. You start with five projectiles and can fire two before needing to reload. Each flame denial lasts around 10 seconds per ammo, making Noor strong at holding tight angles and entry points.
Noor completely counters Ram, and his lance takes priority over Lesion mines when both are present on an Attacker. His primary weapons are Commando-9 (AR) or Alda 5.56 (LMG). Secondary weapons include 1911 TACOPS or Bailiff 410. Gadgets are Deployable Shield or Barbed Wire.
3v3 Arcade mode
From Sept. 8 to 21, Siege is running a limited-time 3v3 Arcade mode.
You can squad up with two friends, and the first team to four round wins, with a maximum of seven rounds (one overtime round if needed). The prep phase is shortened to 30 seconds, and once you win a round with a set of Operators, you can’t use them again in that match. There are no Operator bans in this mode.
Villa map changes: basement bomb site and rotations
Operation Split Fire moves Villa’s underused Living Room/Library bomb site from the first floor down to the basement, and includes a major basement rework as well.
New interior spaces and rotations open up fresh angles and defensive setups. The rework allows you to perform an insane hatch trick where you can plant and rappel up through the hatch. You can expect more contested basement fights and new drone paths now that the site has shifted.
Villa joins Siege’s modernized maps initiative, with upgraded visuals and destructible elements rolling out across Stadium Alpha, Stadium Bravo, House, Shooting Range, and Tutorials this season.

Operator and weapon balancing
Ubisoft is tweaking several Operators and weapons to tighten the meta.
Kali’s long-range scopes reduced to 3.5x and 8x (from 5x and 12x), faster CSRX 300 shot cadence, more total ammo, and LV Explosive Lance no longer interrupts ADS or impact leaning. Dokkaebi now swaps EMP Grenades for Breach Charges; Jegeo Payload is now interruptible by Mute Jammers, and the tablet must stay active during upload. Lion’s EE-ONE-D scan warning time decreased, Echo’s Yokai Drone’s sonic burst recharges faster, and Kapkan’s Entry Denial Device damage increased.
AR-15.50, MK 14 EBR, and SMG-12 machine pistol receive damage, recoil, and ammo capacity adjustments.
