Marvel fans were left in shock when Robert Downey Jr. surprised everyone at Comic-Con by announcing his role as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers movies. Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expressed his surprise at not being informed by his friend Downey about this casting decision. Renner mentioned that he found out about Downey's new role online and immediately reached out to him for clarification.

Downey, known for his iconic portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man, will now be taking on the character of Victor von Doom in the upcoming films Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). The news has sparked curiosity among fans about how Downey's version of the villain will fit into the MCU.
