HISTORICAL FACTS: Rogue trader warning as county durham builder jailed after admitting fraud worth 110 000 | History Defined

A builder from County Durham has been jailed for three years after he admitted carrying out a fraud which has left his victims tens of thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Stephen Loughlen, from Stanley, clocked up a total of £110,924.90 from his victims without carrying out the work he was paid to do and often leaving his projects in dangerous states.

Trading as Newcastle Facilities and Maintenance Ltd, Loughlen took money from customers to do work on their homes but failed to complete the agreed work, often using bad weather as an excuse.
