FORGOTTEN HISTORY: Sarah healy breaks sonia o sullivan s irish u23 1500m record | History Defined

Sarah Healy Sonia OSullivan John Treacy

Sarah Healy broke Sonia O'Sullivan's Irish U23 1500m record on Tuesday evening in the Czech Republic.

The Dubliner finished sixth with a time of 4:02.86, three seconds ahead of the record set by O'Sullvan in 1991.

It qualifies the 21-year-old for the World Championships in Oregon in July, as well as the European Championships in August, and moves her to fourth on the all-time Irish list behind O’Sullivan, Ciara Mageean and Geraldine Hendricken.
