CAMPAIGNERS have said that Scottish communities have been left out of the Chancellor’s freshly announced “data centre covenant”.

The covenant will force data centre developers to invest in local communities and was announced by John Healey in his 2026 UK Budget speech to the House of Commons on Wednesday.
