Duncan Nicolson will referee Celtic’s Premiership meeting with Aberdeen, having overseen three unbeaten matches for the club last season.
The match is scheduled for September 2 at Celtic Park, with kick-off at 7.45pm. It is the fifth round of the league campaign.
Nicolson will be supported by assistant referees Frank Connor and Chris Rae. Peter Stuart has been appointed fourth official. John Beaton will operate as VAR, with Sean Carr serving as assistant VAR.

Nicolson handled three Celtic fixtures during the 2025/26 season, with the club unbeaten across those fixtures. His first appointment involving the club was the 2-2 draw with Dundee at Celtic Park on December 3, 2025.
Celtic then won 3-2 away to Kilmarnock on February 15. They came back from two goals down at Rugby Park, with Julian Araujo scoring in stoppage time.
Nicolson’s latest Celtic match was the 4-0 home victory over St Mirren on April 11. Celtic’s record under his officiating was two wins and one draw, giving the club seven points from nine.
