UNCOVERED: Shetland residents face second day without phone lines or internet following complete outage | History Defined

ALL phone and internet services on Shetland have been restored after two underwater telecommunications cables were damaged.

Police declared a major incident on Thursday morning that the islands, which have a population of just under 23,000, suffered a “complete outage” which has affected connection to the mainland.

Shetland News reports that this is the third cable break and fault on a telecommunication cable around Shetland in just over a month.
