FORGOTTEN HISTORY: Stabbing in scots town leaves man injured as cops launch serious assault probe | History Defined

A police investigation has been launched after a man was ‘stabbed’ during a late-night attack in Montrose.

Emergency services were called to the scene just off the town’s High Street at around 10pm on Wednesday, December 28.

A 32-year-old man was found to have been hurt and was rushed to hospital for treatment while a heavy police presence remained in the area, local residents report.

Investigators confirmed to the Daily Record that the man has since been released. A probe into the circumstances of the incident, which is being treated as a serious assault, remains ongoing.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Officers received a report of a serious assault on High Street, Montrose, around 10pm on Wednesday, 28 December, 2022.

“A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance and released following treatment. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
