Thai students have won four medals at International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2026 in Uzbekistan, the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) says.
IPST president Assoc Prof Thiradet Jiarasuksakun said the four students who represented Thailand at the competition won one silver and three bronze medals.
The silver medal went to Thanabodhi Sihsobhon of Prince Royal's College.
The three bronze medallists were Araya Luanseng of Mahidol Wittayanusorn School, Pakin Olanraktham of Kamnoetvidya Science Academy and Pattarakorn Sutthajunya of Pathumthep Wittayakarn School.
The Thai delegation was led by team leader Assoc Prof Nattee Niphanant of Chulalongkorn University, with Sutee Rueangwiset of Chulalongkorn University as deputy team leader.
The IOI is one of several international science olympiads held annually, bringing together outstanding high school students from around the world to compete in algorithmic problem-solving, programming and data-structure skills.
This year's competition took place in the Uzbek capital Tashkent from Aug 9-16, with 386 students from more than 97 countries registered to compete.
The Thai delegation will return on flight TK058, arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport on Monday. IPST will hold a welcome ceremony on the second floor of the arrival terminal.
