Three bird flu cases have been detected at Stockton beach.
The latest advice published on the Department of Primary Industries website has confirmed there have been eight new cases recorded.
Among them were a tern, a shy albatross and a shearwater at Stockton beach.
The discoveries have brought the NSW total to 66 H5 bird flu detections and the Australia-wide total to 625.
The Department of Primary Industries latest advice indicated there continued to be no detections in commercial poultry, captive birds or livestock across the state. It said the risk to human health remained low.
The Department of Primary Industries recommended avoiding contact with sick or dead birds or wildlife, including marine animals, record the location and what was found and report it immediately.

Two giant petrels were found at Hawks Nest and confirmed to be carrying the virus. It has also been detected on the Central Coast.
The Department of Primary Industries said the new cases were not unexpected and the state government was prepared for H5 bird flu.
