HISTORICAL FACTS: Trump brushes off fresh concern about air force one after emergency slide deploys - Caught on Camera

Donald Trump Joint Base Andrews
  • An emergency inflatable slide deployed from Air Force One on Wednesday afternoon before President Donald Trump was set to board at Joint Base Andrews.
  • The slide was seen on the tarmac on the right side of the Qatari-gifted aircraft, opposite the side typically used for boarding.
  • President Donald Trump was seated nearby aboard Marine One at the time, ahead of his flight to Dallas, Texas, for the Republican midterm convention.
  • “They were doing a check on the slide,” Trump told reporters after being asked about the emergency slide. “They want to make sure everything works perfectly.”
  • He was then asked if he was sure that Air Force One was safe to fly. “Yeah I am,” Trump replied. “Or I wouldn’t be on it.”
