President Donald Trump suggested that basketball star LeBron James might be "a racist" during a White House news conference on Friday.
Trump's remarks followed James's announcement that he would continue his NBA career by joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
Trump was asked whether James, who publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election, or Michael Jordan was the best-ever basketball player
“Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine,” Trump said. “I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy. I think LeBron is, maybe he’s a racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump ... I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”
Trump had previously mocked James in 2020 after he campaigned for Joe Biden, prompting crowds at a rally in Pennsylvania to chant “LeBron James sucks”.
