- Delegations from two countries walked out during President Donald Trump ’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly meeting on Tuesday.
- As Trump began to address the last six months of on-and-off military strikes against Iran , the delegation of Iranians walked out, with only one person remaining seated.
- "I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before?" Trump said. "Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again?"
- Trump added: "Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations? But I believe we'll make a deal right after the election."
- Iran’s president and foreign minister are in New York for the annual meeting but were not in the General Assembly hall for Trump’s speech. Lower level staff and delegates were seated when Trump began to speak and left 10 minutes into his speech. Cuba’s delegation later walked out as Trump called the country a failed state and insisted “freedom” was coming.
