YOU WONT BELIEVE: Vaping boosts chances of quitting smoking by 61 study finds - What They Never Told You

  • A comprehensive Cochrane Review of 80 studies found that using nicotine vapes increases the odds of successfully quitting smoking by 61 per cent after six months compared to traditional nicotine replacement therapies.
  • The research revealed that between eight and ten people per 100 successfully stopped smoking using nicotine e-cigarettes, compared to six per 100 using conventional options like gum or patches.
  • Lead author Dr Nicola Lindson from the University of Oxford emphasised that while nicotine vapes are unlikely to be completely risk-free, they are significantly less harmful than smoking tobacco.
  • Senior author Dr Jamie Hartmann-Boyce warned against purchasing unlicensed e-cigarettes due to safety hazards like unstable batteries, advising consumers to choose devices approved by regulatory bodies such as the MHRA.
  • Cancer Research UK urged governments across the nation to fully implement the Tobacco and Vapes Act alongside ensuring smokers have access to a broad range of cessation support, including legal vapes.
