Vernon Kay has revealed what his radio co-host Jeremy Vine is really like behind-the-scenes.
The Radio 2 DJ spilled the beans on his colleague during an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Friday to promote BBC Radio 2 in the Park, which takes place next weekend.
Kay - who is navigating his divorce from Tess Daly - shared his excitement about getting to party with his co-hosts at Radio 2 In The Park.
The live music event takes place at City Park in Stirling from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13, with performances from stars like Chaka Khan, The Script, Emeli Sandé, Simple Minds and Lulu.
When asked by hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt what the atmosphere is like with his colleagues at the festival, he said: "It's so much fun. We've all grown up career wise together.
“It feels like a school trip when you actually feel like yourself rather than being trussed up in a school tie.”
Munchetty asked: "Who's the mischief maker?" to which Kay immediately replied: "Rylan [Clark].”
Munchetty then probed: "Is the teacher Jeremy Vine?"
Kay insisted:"No, no, no, Vine is the one back of class flicking wet tissue at the teacher.
"He's the mischievous one. He's the naughty boy but he's great fun. He's the current affairs person at BBC Radio 2 but he absolutely isn't that guy in real life. So funny."
Kay, who presents the weekday mid-morning slot on Radio 2, has a playful relationship with current affairs presenter Vine, 61.
In July, Vine gave Kay a cheeky warning after his co-host threatened to reveal his “secret nights out” with Andy Burnham.
"You're going to have to stop saying you've met [Burnham] once, because he's going to be Prime Minister,” he told Kay ahead of Burnham becoming the new Prime Minister.
"It'll sound like name-dropping.”
Kay had previously revealed he had spent “Saturday nights” out drinking “pints” with the new PM in Manchester.
"I've got lots of mutual friends with Andy Burnham. I know him quite well,” the presenter has said in the past.
When asked if he had ever been to Chequers - the Prime Minister's country retreat - Kay responded: "I've been there before. Maybe go again."
Kay added of Burnham: “Nice bloke, that's all I can say. You've never been around Leigh on a Friday night or a Saturday night with him. That's my reference."
Vine replied "nice doesn't always cut it", to which Kay quipped: "It does on a night out though Jeremy, with your mates."
He admitted they have shared a pint before, saying: "Back in the day. Before politics.”
