DARK SECRETS: What google assistant users need to know about the 68 million settlement payout | Vintage Vibes

Google has agreed to a $68 million settlement in a privacy class action lawsuit regarding its Google Assistant.
The lawsuit alleges that Google Assistant recorded users' conversations without consent, even when not prompted by activation phrases.
The settlement covers individuals who used Google Assistant products between May 2016 and March 2026.
Claimants are divided into two groups: device purchasers, who could receive $18 to $56 per device, and privacy-only claimants, who could receive $2 to $10.
Eligible users must submit a claim online or by mail using a Unique ID and PIN by August 27 to receive payment.
