Joe Hart believes Celtic star Benjamin Nygren continues to try and "win over" the supporters.
That is, the ex-Hoops goalkeeper says, because despite his strong statistics in front of goal, the Swedish international is often found on the periphery of the action.
Nygren already has four goals and the same number of assists from the same amount of games this season. He found the net with a stunning strike against LASK in the recent Champions League playoff tie and continues to impress.
For Hart, the retired stopper understands how pivotal Nygren has become for Celtic but he also acknowledges why he also frustrates punters at times.
Still, the 25-year-old is a "match-winner" and can have another massive campaign in Glasgow if he plays his cards right.
“This man scores brilliant goals,” Hart told TNT Sports. “In some cases, Nygren is still trying to win over the fans. I was talking with Kasper before the LASK game; it’s not like he takes the game by the scruff of the neck.
“But if you have a match-winner. If you have a goalscorer. He is a top player. There is no getting away from it. He is so important to this team.”
Nygren's performances have earned him transfer interest throughout Europe and in the Premier League. He also played for Sweden at the World Cup earlier this summer.
