A 'Julia' sick of people mistakenly calling her 'Julie' has set up a Monzo 'pot' to save £1 each time someone gets her name wrong - and is on track for the trick to amass more than £1,000 this year. Julia Green says the problem has plagued her since childhood and spans across all her email accounts and the occasional phone call.
The 28-year-old often overpronounces the 'A' in her name to avoid confusion - but claims it has little effect. The saver finally reached her limit and decided to see how much she could amass with the money-saving challenge.
After setting up the pot, Julia claims she has so far saved £9 - but is set to rack up more than £1,000 by the end of the year if the trend continues. In fact, Julia reckons it happens so frequently that she will 'run out of cash by the end of the month'.
