A man has been taken to hospital with a serious crushing injury after a workplace incident on Thursday.
The 54-year-old was working at the back of a truck near Singleton about 11.15am when his hand became trapped, pinning him against the rig.
Paramedics, police rescue officers and firefighters were called to Elderslie, just north of Branxton, to help free the man.
A spokesman for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service, which dispatched a medical team to the scene, said the man had sustained serious injuries to his hand.
He was assessed by paramedics at the scene, after the joint effort to free him, and taken by ambulance to John Hunter Hospital.
A spokesman for NSW Police said officers had notified SafeWork NSW on Thursday afternoon.
In a brief statement, a spokeswoman for the NSW government agency said inspectors had visited the scene and were making inquiries.
"As inquiries are ongoing, no further information is available at this time," the agency source said.
