When you're on top, your every decision is bound to be scrutinized, so you have to be able to take the heat. Both from the inside and the outside. Especially if you're leading the Free World. Setting an example simply comes with the job.
But the Facebook group 'America's Cultural Decline Into Idiocy' (ACDII) thinks the country could — and should — do better.
Its 277K members share funny yet sobering memes poking fun at politics, culture, and everything else they believe is spiraling out of hand. Here are some of the ones that have received the most attention there.

Universal healthcare, walkable cities, significantly cheaper cost of living, less chance of getting mvrdered at school, to name but a few.
Here is the proofread version of your added survey text, polished for grammar and flow to match the style of the rest of your piece:
According to a new Pew Research Center survey of 42,151 adults in 36 countries, conducted in early 2026, a median of only 37% of adults express a favorable view of the U.S., while 57% hold an unfavorable view.
In Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, opinions are largely negative, with seven-in-ten or more in many of these nations rating the U.S. unfavorably. And while overall ratings for the U.S. remain positive in Israel and Nigeria, they have hit historic lows among certain subgroups in both countries.
Now THIS is where “Thank you for your service” would be appropriate.
At the same time, just 35% of global respondents believe the U.S. contributes to global peace and stability, compared to 63% who say it does not. Some of the lowest scores come from Europe and Latin America.
In fact, only a quarter of people or fewer in France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden think the U.S. helps keep the peace, a sentiment shared by 20% of Argentinians.
While the U.S. remains the most desired destination for people who would like to leave their own countries permanently, the latest data show it is less attractive than it had been.
In 2025, 15% of adults worldwide who said they would like to move permanently to another country named the U.S. as their preferred destination, the lowest level recorded in nearly two decades of Gallup's research.
From 2007 to 2009, 24% of would-be migrants named the U.S. as their top choice, and that figure remained near 20% through 2016. Since 2017, it has been at or below 18%.
Compared with 2024, the U.S. became less attractive to adults in several regions, with statistically significant declines in Latin America and the Caribbean (-5 percentage points), Australia and New Zealand (-4), and Southeast Asia (-6).
Latin America accounts for seven of the 16 countries worldwide where the percentage naming the U.S. as a preferred destination fell by at least 10 percentage points.
I like how this is a post about "American" idiocy and yet, the product tags are in Spanish and the prices are listed in Euros XD
The person who runs the 'ACDII' Facebook group wants everyone to know that they do not want to hurt the U.S. Only to highlight its problems.
"Let me say this. I love America, and I love good old fashioned American culture, too," they write in the group's 'About' section. "Baseball, Apple Pie, Family Values, Freedom, and national pride. With that said, there has been an undeniable 'Dumbing Down' of America in recent years."
"Idiocy is all around us. It's everywhere we look. I hear it in people's speech, I see it on TV, in advertising, and particularly in signage all across America," the administrator adds.
Let's call it AI and give it a chat interface with confident responses.
"[The idiocy] has gotten to the point of not only being accepted, but sometimes defended, as well," the 'ACDII' administrator said.
"When you point this stuff out, you're the bad guy, an insensitive jerk, and sometimes even labeled prejudiced! Well, I'm taking a stand, America! Because I love you, I'll be the bad guy for you!"
That person is a flat earther. That’s some acrobatic thinking right there.
I just want to see a photo of her disappointment on the 31st December when she empties out the jar of pennies and counts them...
When it comes to the general American public, economic issues continue to dominate their ranking of the top problems facing the country.
A Pew survey of 5,103 U.S. adults from April 2026 revealed that 73% of them say the affordability of health care is a very big problem for the country (up 6 percentage points from February of last year), 66% believe inflation is a very big problem (up from 63% over the same timeframe), and 64% view the federal budget deficit as a very big problem (up 7 points).
While a far smaller share sees unemployment as a very big problem in the country today (36%), this has seen a big jump (by 11 points) since early 2025.
This was far funnier as video. They laughed so hysterically and I couldn’t wipe the grin off my face for a long time.
This is a gag gift from the Bernard Food Industries. They started making this in 1964.
Because those are different equasions, and order of operations is multiplication before addition.
U.K. number plates and the cars look like U.K. variants, U.K. style markings on the road, I’d say this is a shcool in the U.K. not really an American decline into idiocy unless we know the painter was American or the writer of the article is American. 🤷🏻♂️
"Stewart Lansbury, of Charlotte, was taken to the emergency room after reportedly inserting a packet of Pop Rocks into his rectum, then using a turkey baster to add Coca-Cola as part of an $80 bet with friends."
Well sometimes using the pull tab no work ! They break off so you need a normal opener ,oh n pull tabs don’t half bloody hurt when you got bad arthritis in your hands to ,source me they hurt !
The fact that someone got this on film means that it was on its way to happening for quite a while. I can't fathom how the drivers on the van didn't hear the thing banging on the roof for miles!
I would be making that woman pay for the entire pile of clothes her child is on and the one next to it.
Kayleigh Düring is from the Netherlands and this is clearly a joke, not a sign of American decline.
Before you start complaining that the link does not work, please check if the book is connected to the Internet
We had a sign similar to this where I worked - at a car rental center at a major international airport. It always confused guests when the doors wouldn't automatically open. Though it should be obvious - we're a right-driving country, the door you use is on the right. It was printed on the exterior of the garage leading into the lobby, indicating you're exiting the garage, but entering the lobby lol.
If I was the store manager, I would make her pay for it all or get her done for criminal damage.
🎶 Oh you can't roller skate in a buffalo herd, but you can be happy if you've a mind to. 🎶
Judging by the design of the wheelchair, the dry riser inlet sign, the drain, and the double yellows, this is in the UK
This happened last month. A 3-year-old boy survived a crocodile attack after a stranger grabbed and threw him into an enclosure at Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo in Cambridgeshire, England, on June 18, 2026. Zoo owner's wife, Tracey Johnson, bravely jumped into the enclosure to rescue the child, pulling him to safety.
The elevator has clearly doors on both sides (look at the open/close buttons on the bottom). There is clearly a reason why the left only opens on floors 11 or 12. My guess is, it is some kind of observation deck or bridge. also the 11th floor seems to be some kind of plaza since it stretches over two floors on the right. I also doubt it is in germany since the ground floor in germany would be EG or 0
Culinary tip of the day for my foodie friends:
If you run out of whipped cream, you can substitute mayonnaise and no one will ever know!
Is this US? I thought this store was from the Philippines.
I'm not a mashed potato fan, but aren't they typically prepared with milk, cream and/or butter? Hence "plant-based" not for the potatoes themselves, but for the lack of dairy.
This kind of defeats the purpose of having ears.
And yet they expect us to believe that a certain piece of presidential cartilage repaired itself, scar-free.
It’s IN the U.S. but the utterly corrupt President of FIFA is Infantino and FIFA definitely isn’t an American business. More laziness by the writer.
Because we all love artificial coloring Yellow 5, also known as tartrazine (or E102), is a synthetic petroleum-based dye used to add a bright lemon-yellow color to foods and Blue 1, also known as Brilliant Blue FCF, is a synthetic organic compound. It is classified as a triarylmethane dye and is primarily manufactured from petroleum (crude oil), Have a slice of pie
Niqab, Burka, Covid mask. Spiderman costume? I feel there's a story behind this one.
U.K. sign, U.K. sign. No American idiocy on display here, again. Lazy writer.
This is getting out of hand now. BT, British Telecom. 999 emergency number in the U.K., photo taken at least 20 or 30 years ago. This whole post is a joke. Not America, not a descent, FFS.
Even though most people would know who Boba Fett is, not knowing it isn't a sign of cultural decline.
