There’s something in the air that makes people feel more pessimistic about the future than ever. Many believe our planet may not even be here, as more than half of Americans don’t think the government or its people will do enough to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Young people are becoming more pessimistic, too, with only 36% believing they will live better than their parents did.
If you want more proof that the world is going crazy, Bored Panda has collected some from the “Awful Everything” subreddit. It’s a community that delivers some harsh truths about our modern-day world: species on the brink of extinction, billionaires wasting precious finite resources, and how AI is slowly melting our brains. Scroll down to see the latest set of pics showing how our world is going downhill.

Chatgpt Is Melting Our Brain
It astonishes me that people will sign up for an eye-wateringly expensive education that they will never be able to afford to repeat, and then waste it by using ChatGPT for everything.

The Taliban Strikes Again
D-I-E. Women are, quite simply, supposed to D-I-E. And if the Taliban is anything like other fundamentalists I am more personally familiar with, those women will then be blamed for their own, often preventable, suffering and deaths.

Toetally Confused As To Who Authorised These Toes
I have a form of self-hárm where I rip/tear at my own skin, sometimes until it bleeds. I've done this for decades as a way of coping with stress, as the pain makes it so I don't feel the bad feelings or think the bad thoughts, at least briefly. I have also done it to my toes/toenails, especially during times of extreme stress. Because of this, my toenails don't grow normal-looking any more and they are hideous. They don't quite look like the toes in this photo (I think this person may have nail fungus) but I am terrified of people judging my toes/toenails, so I haven't worn open-toed shoes in decades. The comments here and some on the Reddit post are only reinforcing my fears that people would think my toes are vomituous :(
