We all have old things laying around that wind up in our yard sales or donated to thrift stores. But have you ever considered those ugly old mirrors have the potential to become high quality and well valued focal points of a vacation home?
The ability to see beauty in what might end up in somomes trash all started with a desire to cope wisely...oh and I needed a coat rack. So heres the jist of it.
It started in 2013 I was confined the the walls of a one room cabin...seeking ways to cope with a toxic relationship. I started hiking more; it was one of the only activities I was allowed to do because I was allowed to be alone. One day I was laying down looking at a large pile of coats when it hit me...I need a coat rack. I'm a go getter I can't just look at something and not do anything about it. I certainly didn't have finances to go buy one so I gathered some birch bark, pinecones, sticks, and moss. Using a board that I found laying around I began creating...shortly after the project was finished I had someone offer $50 for it. That suprised me, and the feeling I got from making my first piece also suprised me. The ability to have an outlet for the purpose of healing was truly a gift in itself...the fact that I could use what I made in my home was also wonderful. My favorite part about creating now is still the rush of emotions I feel while I create something without planning my next move. I'd make art decor forever if I was the only one who would benefit from it. The fact that people feel connect to my healing journey and receive great joy from buying something of mine...now that's truly a blessing.
I take the old, the ugly, the dead and the fallen pieces of nature and create masterpieces for generations to come. I highly encourage coping through creating😎✌
